The Jets, who are back in first place thanks to their win last week coupled with the losses from the rest of the NFC North (Ha!), will try and knock off another inferior opponent on Sunday. If the Bears want to be considered a good team, then they need to beat the bad teams on their schedule (Duh!), and the Dolphins (2-6) are a bad team.

The 4-3 Bears have a chance to increase their lead on at least one team in the NFC North, because the Lions travel to Minnesota to face the Vikings. The Packers are playing the Patriots in New England, so that could work out in the Bears’ favor too.

Here’s everything you need to know about this Sunday’s game.

Both Bears and Bills fans expect a huge Chicago win

The Oakland Raiders have officially another roster move following the embarrassing loss to San Francisco on Thursday night.

Saturday afternoon, Vic Tafur of The Athletic reported that the Raiders have officially cut Bruce Irvin. The seventh-year veteran finishes his 2018 Raiders tenure with six combined tackles, three sacks, and one forced fumble in eight games (six starts). With the roster move,

Oakland will absorb the $8.25 million cap hit from Irvin's deal, per Spotrac. Although any team that opts to claim Irvin before he clears waivers will have to pay the roughly $4 million remaining on his 2018 salary.

Oakland was reportedly shopping Irvin in the days leading up to the October 30th trade deadline. Irvin's salary was scheduled to jump to $9 million in 2019 in what would assuredly

be a rebuilding season. It made sense at the time for Oakland to trade Irvin for a draft pick so Gruden could build the team in his image. However, Oakland was never able to find a partner so Irvin remained on the roster.

Originally drafted by Seahawks in 2012 (#15 overall), Irvin spent four seasons in Seattle as a pass rusher on that dynamic defensive line. During this time period, Irvin helped shut down some of the league's best offenses, including the Denver Broncos in Super Bowl XLVIII.

Coming off the championship, Irvin turned in the best season of his career in 2014, racking up 37 combined tackles, 6.5 sacks, two interceptions (both touchdowns), and a forced fumble. Irvin and the Seahawks defense led the way on a second-consecutive postseason

run, culminating in a meeting with the Patriots in Super Bowl XLIX. Unfortunately for the edge rusher, he became the first player in NFL history to be ejected from the Super Bowl after he threw a closed hand punch at Rob Gronkowski.

After spending the 2015 season with the Seahawks, Irvin signed a four-year, $37 million contract with the Oakland Raiders. Since joining the black and silver, Irvin has started 38 straight games, piling up 121 combined tackles, 11 forced fumbles, and 18 sacks. He's been

a monster along the defensive line, but he hasn't propelled Oakland to victories. That takes a total team effort, which has been lacking in recent weeks.

During the 2018 season, however, Irvin started the first six games but only served as a rotational player following the bye week. He was only on the field for nine snaps during Thursday's loss. Part of this lack of use can be attributed to a pectoral injury that he has been fighting through. Although another factor could be the quote he gave to Paul Gutierrez of

ESPN following the humbling loss to Seattle in London. Irvin told the reporter that "we lost, but I've got a beautiful wife I get to go home to, boy. I'm going to try to make some babies, man." The Raiders didn't officially comment on Irvin's remarks, but many fans accused the veteran of giving up on the team.

With Irvin released, the Raiders are now down two pass rushers after trading Khalil Mack to the Bears. The loss to San Francisco showed that the team is struggling mightily with chasing down quarterbacks, and the situation is unlikely to improve in the coming weeks.
